Top Five MMA Personalities

Top Five MMA Personalities

In today’s world to be the biggest presence in MMA it is not about being the best fighter anymore, because if you bring a big presence with you it is most likely going to garner you a lot of fans. Not all personalities are a good thing, just ask Diego Sanchez fans around the time he fought BJ Penn. Here is a list of the top five personalities MMA has ever seen.

#5 Dana White
No list would be complete without the man whom without there would almost be no MMA to speak of. Dana White whether you love or hate him is one of the biggest proponents of the sport, but he is also a little bit of a persona just as much as he is a person. Some of his greatest quotes come from the beefs he has had over the years ranging from Tito Ortiz to Loretta Hunt to of course fedor’s management. In the interest of keeping this a clean article here is what he had to say to Fedor’s manager, “I told Vadummy ‘you’re one punch away from being worth zero’.”

#4 Nick Diaz
If any fighter can rival Diaz in terms of personality it may be Jason Miller who might actually be clinically insane. Not that he thinks he is the greatest fighter in the world, but getting arrested in a church naked could get you stuffed in a padded cell. Just look at what he said before he was even on TUF, “Brazilian nut huggers can suck my mother f**kin d**k, that gets more p***y than any one of you could imagine, due to my MTV show, my good looks, and my tons of money... I'm the f**king man. What was your down syndrome Brazilian gonna break? I "don't respect the sport." In the words of Dana White, "F**k you you f**king c**t." Go j**k-off to TUF.”

#2 Chael Sonnen
This is the one man that has turned a personality in to two title shots, because did he really deserve the second Anderson Silva fight or the Jon Jones fight? There is a lot more he could have done to prove himself. The problem is when you are as entertaining as Sonnen it is hard not to put you in high profile matches. just look at how he makes an apology to see his brilliance, “I was in Las Vegas when the Nogueira brothers first touched down in America. There was a bus, this is a true story. There was a bus that pulled up to a red light, and Little Nog tried to feed it a carrot, while Big Nog was petting it. He thought it was a horse. This really happened. He tried to feed a bus a carrot, and now you're telling me this country has computers? I didn't know that."

#1 Don Frye
It could be no one else at the top. Don Frye is the original MMA personality, and he is making a comeback in his prediction videos. Even though he probably does not know half the fighters he is talking about, it is just hilarious to see him in his element. Here is a list of quotes he made as a professional commentator, and it is a wonder why the UFC has not hired him yet.
"This is the type of fight that makes you want to go home and say 'Man I should be selling cars'"
"All southpaws oughta be drowned at birth."
"...was like a couple a' whores fightin' over a loose dollar."
"The ref is the enemy, so are the judges."
"There are big heavy boys...and then they're going to get a bucket of fried chicken.""I scratched my back and a puppy fell out."
"All these goofy guys are painting their toe nails, by the time it takes to paint your toe nails, you can do a 3 mile run."

"Have you seen his ears? They're like potatoes, looks like his head was stuck in the birth canal for 4 hours and they had to beat him out with a stick."
"Like a wet fart...don't pretend like you haven't done it."
"I didn't know France was ever in a fight."
"You don't want the Tito Ortiz list of excuses here."
"They act like they owe each other money." [Joey Villasenor vs. Danillo Villefort]
"He's so awkward, like a rabid octopus."
"I need a shot of tequila and a cigarette."
